Flight Operations and Maintenance Exchanger /FOMAX

AEROTHAI and ARINC, a part of Collins Aerospace, USA has launched Flight Operations and Maintenance Exchanger (FOMAX) via Broadband Internet to enhance GLOBALink/ Asia, the Airline Operational Communications (AOC) throughout Asia. AEROTHAI, installed the FOMAX processor at headquarters in Bangkok, Thailand. It has been ready to provide this service since September 29th 2020. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the airlines has postponed the FOMAX operating plan. ARINC has expected airlines to start using the service this coming June.

Flight Operations and Maintenance Exchanger /FOMAX, which is a collaborative project of ARINC and Airbus, has been developed to transfer the data between ground operation center and aircrafts via Broadband Internet. At the beginning, A320neo and A330 are able to operate this service. The main processor of the FOMAX at ARINC, Annapolis, Maryland USA and an additional system at AEROTHAI were located in order to expand the AOC service throughout the ASIA and prepare for the use of airlines all over the world. As the FOMAX service has been expanded, AEROTHAI has implemented the new technology like Broadband Internet operated on AOC, which is called “Connected Aircraft”.
