Monitoring Agency for Asia Region (MAAR) was established by Aeronautical Radio of Thailand, Ltd. (AEROTHAI) under the approval of the Asia/Pacific Air Navigation Planning and Implementation Regional Group (APANPIRG) to assume the duties and responsibilities of the Regional Monitoring Agency (RMA) for the Asia Region.

The principal role of the MAAR is to assist the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) in the continuation of the safety assessment program for the implementation of Reduced Vertical Separation Minimum (RVSM) and other monitoring requirements as determined by the APANPIRG.

  • The risk estimates are now updated for the new assessment period from January 2015 to December 2015
  • ADS-B data from AEROTHAI stations is now available for MAAR's AHMS. 5 more stations have been installed, which extends the coverage to most part of the Bangkok FIR. Please, check the new coverage from MAAR's AHMS.
  • Aircraft with expired approvals are considered NON-RVSM APPROVED aircraft. RVSM approvals will only be extended upon receipt of RVSM approval updates from State CAAs. It is the State CAA's responsibility to provide RMAs with continuous RVSM approval updates and annual updates (ref. ICAO APANPIRG Conclusion 19/15 and Conclusion 20/22).
