AEROTHAI President joined the Minister of Transport on a courtesy call on the President of ICAO Council at ICAO World Aviation Forum in Montreal, Canada
The International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) convened the first World Aviation Forum (IWAF) during 23-25 November 2015 in Montreal, Canada, under the theme “No Country Left Behind.” The IWAF was attended by Transport Ministers, Senior Officials, ICAO member states and the industrial sectors from all over the world.
Mrs. Sarinee Sangprasit, AEROTHAI President, as a part of Thai delegates led by Mr. Arkom Termpittayapaisith, Minister of Transport, together with Ambassador Vijavat Isarabhakdi, together with AEROTHAI management participated in the forum. This became the good opportunity for Thai delegates to pay a courtesy call on Dr. Olumyiwa Benard Aliu, the President of ICAO Council to inform of the progress that Thailand had work hard to resolve ICAO’s Significant Safety Concern (SSC). While the President of ICAO Council expressed satisfaction on active response of Thailand. Previously, the progress had been consistently reported to ICAO.
Moreover, the forum was the venue for AEROTHAI to present the operation on air navigation services, strategic plan on air navigation, including joint projects cooperated with stakeholders to handle massive growth of air traffic and to support seamless sky policy.
However, AEROTHAI has focused on the efficiency of air navigation services which include air space management, route designation and advanced technology. Recently, AEROTHAI has invested in Air Navigation Service Infrastructure Development Project to enhance infrastructure for air navigation services to match with international standard, while it is expected to reduce workload of our air traffic controllers. The most updated air navigation system will be fully operated in 2017 to supply capability to support the growing air traffic volume and to enhance competitive advantage for aviation industry of our country.
