AEROTHAI Kicked off Shadow Operations for the New Air Navigation System
AEROTHAI started the shadow operations of new air navigation system for Bangkok Approach Control at Suvarnbhumi Airport on 25 April 2017 and will expand to regional sites soon.
AEROTHAI President, Mrs. Sarinee Angsusingha revealed: “AEROTHAI has carried out the air navigation infrastructure development or Thailand Modernization CNS/ATM System (TMCS) project to maximize the capacity and efficiency of air navigation services. Now we step towards the transition process including the shadow operations. AEROTHAI would like to ensure that our most updated technology and well prepared personnel will deliver safe and smooth transition to the new system.”
The shadow operations firstly started at Bangkok Approach Control, Suvarnbhumi Airport, then will expand to regional air traffic control centers in October of this year, and will complete in January 2018. The shadow operations parallel with the existing system to assure fully operational capacity of the new technology and the new procedure.
The President concluded; this is one of the most important in AEROTHAI history. The new system will efficiently accommodate rapid growth of traffic volume, while maintaining our commitment and dedication to global safety standards.
