AEROTHAI has revised downward flight movement for the fiscal year 2022 (October 2021- September 2022), due to the continuing COVID-19 pandemic. The Executive Vice President, AEROTHAI, Mr. Tinnagorn Choowong said; "We have estimated to accommodate 323,093 flights in the fiscal year 2022 or a 38% drop, while it had been previously projected 518,790 flights. The third wave of COVID-19 together with increasing infection rate and restricted measure for travelling significantly affected flight volume in April and previous 3 months." AEROTHAI has expected the better situation in June and estimated to serve 1,095 flights a day in August. However, the ability to deal with the pandemic including vaccine provision and the reopening policy for travelers will bring an impact on air transport demand and encourage the recovery of aviation industry.
