Mr. Thaworn Senneam, Deputy Minister of Transport, visited the U-Tapao International Airport
on 24 August 2020 to observe the progress of the U-Tapao Airport and the Eastern Airport City
Project. AEROTHAI Executives joined this occasion and reported the preparation for air navigation services.
Airport City Project and the development of U-Tapao Airport is part of the Eastern Economic Corridor
(EEC) Scheme. The airport capacity is expected to accommodate 60 million passengers a year.
According to the government plan, the airport is expected to fully serve commercial flights in 2025
and AEROTHAI has been assigned by the government to provide air navigation services.
Consequently, AEROTHAI has initiated U-Tapao Air Navigation Service Provision or
U-TAS Project and established the steering committee to work on the policy level and
the Project Management Office to perform all tasks of operational level.
